Shows (updated 5/27/2008):

Our biggest show of the year so far happened on May 17th. We ended up bringing 8 horses with an extra two tagging along at the end of our row. It's no easy task getting that many horses to a show - especially when they don't all reside at your facility. Fortunately we had some help - and we always appreciate it when others pitch in to make the group successful. Thanks for the teamwork.

Lexie was shown by Kaitlin and did quite well in the jumper classes and the hunter classes (she's a 17'2 hand thoroughbred).  Kaitlin won reserve champion in the 2'6 jumper division and she won reserve champion in the 3' division.  Maxie showed Cork in the 2'6" jumper classes and is now second in point standings for that division after winning champion.  Maxie also showed in Hopeful Hunter and pinned reserve champion from both R rated judges and is now second in point standings in that division as well.

Meghan showed Mikey in several classes and had a great Saturday.   She won a few third place ribbons by the high ranked judges in her course "B" and in the equitation course.   Meghan continues to do well in overall points standings and we hope she has a fantastic year.  June had fun bringing "New Horse" to her second show of the year.  She also brought Gigi to the show and somehow balanced being the stall guard/police throughout the day with showing.

Next we come to Meg who showed Biscuit for the first time.  We've had issues with Biscuit showing in the past (she didn't exactly want to go into the ring).  Meg and B are a great pair and did a wonderful job at the RHSC show.  She competed in some classes with up to 18 other beginners, and managed to pull out a couple of 3rd place ribbons!  We are proud of Meg and what's she's been able to accomplish since she arrived at Green Tree horse Farm.

Compilation of videos of our riders are posted on youtube. More videos can be found here

Our old friend Domino went along for a field trip at this show.  His mom - Bridgy did a phenomenal job showing her pony at her first Rolling Hills show - and her first trip to Wills Park.  Bridgy competed against 20 other riders and took a first place ribbon in walk trot equitation.  She also won several other ribbons and ended up having a great day showing.  Lisa brought along Indy and continued to do some schooling to prepare for a show.  As soon as the two are ready, we'll be posting some results for the show.

 Maxie took two reserve champions

Last but not least Bridget had another great day on Chocklit.  She took two Champions in the beginner ring for her flat work.  She also took a champion in crossrails despite Chocklit's poor performance in some of those classes (her owner would say that she's a "western" horse and that's why she's inconsistent in crossrails!).  She also took a reserve in the flatwork as the show was double judged.  Bridget continues to do well in the overall points standings for the year.

There were several pictures take at the show as always - if you have more, feel free to send them our way and we'll get them posted.  Our next show will be the June 14th show at Wills Park (Rolling Hills Saddle Club).  If you are interested in showing, there's always more room on the trailer

 Look at that competition!

Construction Progress:

This winter took an interesting turn with newborn Jaden Noah Wofford on January 8th of 2008.  It was good timing for the show season this year, and we are proud to have a little healthy boy.

Three Amigo's in a mid-day class

It's only a matter of time before he'll be crawling and helping out around the farm.  I'm sure he doesn't know what we have in store for him.  Definitely some lead line classes if he's interested :)

We did finish out an office and extra guest bedroom/bathroom in the basement.  We also redid a guestroom into a nursery so Jaden will have a nice place to sleep.

Meg on Biscuit

We ended up finishing some landscaping this summer, running some extra water lines, and adding a few other conveniences.  We will be sectioning off some more paddocks this year, as well as possibly insulating the open barn.  We will definitely add some more grooming/tack areas but are pretty much done growing at the moment.
